I have recently started working at NCVH after a complete career change to fulfil my dream of working with animals, and within a veterinary practice environment. I am also hoping to train to become a veterinary nurse in the future. I love seeing the progression of a case and seeing that animal go home to their owners feeling much better - and knowing I have played a small part in that is amazing!
I have grown up with lots of animals around me including horses, dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs to name a few! I currently have a mischievous mini Rex called Penny and a sprocker spaniel called Luna.
Laura really enjoys her role as an Auxiliary Nurse and the vast variety of jobs that go with it. She especially enjoys looking after inpatients and ensuring they’re as comfortable as possible whilst with us.
Laura has a soft spot for wildlife, most especially baby birds.
She joined the team after nearly 7 years of working solely with birds of prey as a Falconer. Her goal is to become a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse and enjoy a life long career caring for animals of all kinds
I began working at Newnham Court in 2016 as a nursing auxiliary, and more recently as a surgical auxiliary. I assist the vets in theatre and prepare surgical kits as well as many other roles. I am hoping to study as a vet in the future, so this position gives me a lot of experience in the veterinary environment.
